Our History
Our journey began in 1994, when Daniel was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). From the beginning, Daniel’s family learned firsthand what it means to navigate life with a congenital heart defect. Over the years, that experience grew into decades of advocacy, awareness, support, and a desire to help other heart families.

After Daniel earned his wings in 2018, that commitment became Team Dan’s Army—a community dedicated to carrying his legacy forward. Today, we continue sharing resources, raising CHD awareness, supporting heart families, participating in events, and advocating for a future where every heart warrior and family knows they are not alone.

Daniel is the heart behind Team Dan’s Army. Born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Daniel spent his life facing challenges that required incredible strength and courage. But CHD was only one part of who he was. Daniel was a son, a father, a friend, a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and someone whose personality and smile left

But CHD was only one part of who he was. Daniel was a son, a father, a friend, a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and someone whose personality and smile left an unforgettable mark on the people who knew him.
Daniel became a CHD Angel on May 11, 2018, at just 23 years old. Team Dan’s Army exists to make sure his story, his strength, and his impact continue.
Every event we attend, every CHD fact we share, every family we support, every person we educate, and every step we take at the Heart Walk is done with Daniel in our hearts.
He is our reason. He is our inspiration. And he will always be our Dan The Man.
